Privacy notice
For the NANS EARN register of interest. Last updated 24 September 2026.
Who is asking
This register is run by PeerPay for the National Association of Nigerian Students, for the NANS EARN employability programme. PeerPay decides how your details are used and is responsible for looking after them.
Write to info@neep.ng about anything on this page, including asking for your record to be deleted.
What this is, and what it is not
Registering your interest is not an application, an admission, or an offer of a place, a course or a job. It tells the programme you want to hear from it when it opens. Nothing you enter has been checked or verified — not your institution, not your matriculation number, and not your NIN or BVN.
What is collected
- Your name, date of birth and gender
- Your email address and phone numbers
- Your address, LGA and state
- Your institution, matriculation number, level and education status
- Your field of interest, the skills you list and how you rate them
- What you are looking for, and when you are available
- Your NIN and BVN — both optional. You can leave them blank and still register.
The form also records when you registered. It does not ask for documents, photographs or payment details.
About your NIN and BVN
These are collected so the programme can confirm who you are later, when places are allocated. They are not verified now, not checked against NIMC or your bank, and not used to access any account. Giving them is entirely your choice and leaving them out does not affect your registration.
They are held apart from the rest of your record. They are never shown in lists, never included in any export, and are only revealed when a named member of staff asks for them — which is recorded each time.
Why it is collected
To contact you when the programme opens; to understand how many students are interested and where they are, so places and partners can be planned; and to match you to training and opportunities that fit what you told us.
You are giving these details voluntarily, by choosing to fill in the form. You can withdraw at any time by writing to info@neep.ng.
Who sees it
Staff working on the programme at PeerPay and NANS, and the technical suppliers who host it — currently Amazon Web Services, whose servers hold the data. It is not sold, and it is not passed to employers or training providers from this register.
When the platform opens and you choose to apply for something, you will be told at that point what is shared and with whom.
Where it is kept, and for how long
On servers in [region to be confirmed], with a continuous encrypted backup. Access needs a named account, and every time somebody reads the register it is recorded.
Your registration is kept until the programme opens and for [retention period to be confirmed by NANS] afterwards, or until you ask for it to be deleted — whichever comes first.
Your rights
Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 you can ask to:
- see what is held about you
- have anything wrong corrected
- have your record deleted
- object to how it is being used, or withdraw entirely
- be given a copy in a portable form
Write to info@neep.ng. There is no charge and no need to give a reason.
If you are not satisfied with the response, you can complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.
Changes
This is a pre-launch register and the programme is still being built. If what is collected or how it is used changes, this page changes with it and the date at the top is updated.
Items in [brackets] are still to be confirmed by NANS before this register is opened to students.
